I have a 2 inch cut on my lower leg that hasn't healed yet. after taking of my band aid there was a slimy substance on it. should i be worried?

Clean it: With soap and water and pat it dry. If it comes of and does not look infected that is good. Get se bacitracin at the store and put it on it. Leave it open to the sunlight if you can bandsidsnare very bad and should not be used . They don't let the skin breathe and that slimy stuff builds up. If you need to cover it use gauze and paper tape so it can still breathe the air. Use the bacitracin twice

Infection: You may have a skin infection which maybe the reason fir lack of healing . See your doctor or a surgeon . The wound may need to be cleaned , possibly de breaded , local antibiotics applied snd bandaged snd checked daily until proper healing . A culture will be taken at the time of the initial visit . You may need oral antibiotics too . Take extreme caution, , this could be MESA
