I'm getting my tonsils out. my doctor mentioned removed my adenoids as well. is that really necessary? i thought adenoids will shrink over time?

Tonsils: Sometimes both tonsils and adenoids shrink as we get older,but not always. Ask your doctor why removal of adenoids is recommended. Get a second opinion if you still have concerns or questions.

T&A: Both typically shrink as you get older and theses days tonsils and adenoids are rarely removed. If your doctor feels there is a clinical reason to remove the tonsils it stands to reason the the other tonsil (adenoid) would be removed too.
