Need more info: How are you feeling? Any fever aches & pain? Rash getting bigger? Some insect bites espec tic bites may stay swollen & red for a week but they usually itch. I think it would be a good idea to have your primary care physician refer you to a dermatologist.

See doctor: Some spider bites may cause a lot of tissue destruction and you should consult a doctor re. whether an antibiotic may be needed or not. If it does not itch, cortisone and benadryl (diphenhydramine) would be the wrong medications to use and cortisone may even make the matter worse.
