Got injured and want a tetanus shot but not sure when last was. is it dangerous if it's only been a year since the last one?

Not a problem: It is in no way dangerous to get an extra tetanus shot. It is far better you get one if you were injured than take the risk. The only thing you may experience is a bit more soreness in arm if you had one recently - but that is all just local reaction.

Not Dangerous: Injured 19 yr old, inquires about tetanus vaccine. If you have had less than 3 tetanus shots in your life time or don't know, you will require another one. If you have had 3 or more tetanus shots in your life time, you may require another based on the condition of your wound and how long since your last shot was given. It is not dangerous to receive the vaccine again if was given 1 yr ago.
