Abdominal pain 8 wks after my prostatectomy. is this because uti (klebsiela >100,000) or i have intra-abdominal abscess. dr wants a ct, is mri useful?

CT: Is best ,MRI not of much value in this case. It is better for neuoro things And certain others but not in the abdomen. Sounds like you are in good hands. Hope you feel better soon

CT is correct test: It is surely possible that this UTI is causing your discomfort, though I agree that it is important to have additional imaging because of your recent surgery. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) should be effective in relieving your symptoms and curing the infection unless there is an abscess. A CT is the appropriate test to identify an abscess. Good luck!
