A good workout?: Sounds like you were successful in working out your lower abdominal muscles and obliques. That pain should subside slowly over a few days.. If you pulled a muscle the pain is usually more severe and localized to one side or the other. If that's the case then see your doctor.

Pain left rib cage goes around to the mid back?

Could be rib problem: I see this problem very commonly in my osteopathic manipulative medicine practice. Ribs normally move up & down with respiration & are quite flexible. Sometimes, the rib gets 'stuck' losing both its ability to move & its flexibility. Some serious health problems can cause this, but usually it is just a tight muscle or ligament & can be easily fixed with osteopathic manipulation.
A member asked:

I seem to get major pain across the lower part of back it feels like I have no backbone down there i start to hyperventalate but the pain is emence I have to try to breath n then all of sudden ill have to pull off road wait then its gone

No backbone: The sensation of no backbone is often encountered in cases with discogenic injury without herniation and in segmental instability, in which excessive movements occur at a disc level due to ligamentous and/or disc damage. Hyperventilation is your response to pain, not a part of the spinal problem at all. Learn to control your pain response. See a spine specialist (neuro or ortho).
