A member asked:

I will be volunteering at a mental health institute i have to receive cpi training what is that? i know its crisis prevention is that restraint?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CPI training: CPI training is used to help staff learn how to effectively defuse anxious, hostile, or violent behaviors as early as possible. It is designed to reduce harm to patients and staff. CPI is not always restraint techniques. The key word is "defuse". CPI training is a good idea for you if you are volunteering.
