Corpus spongiosum CS: Corpus Spongiosum is a soft spongy tissue encircling the urethra in men. Its function is to keep the urethra open and prevent it from collapsing during erection (which is caused by rush of blood flow into corpus covernosum- which is also encircling urethra in men).
