Prognosis: Counseling for agenesis of the corpus collosum is difficult. Imaging cannot predict how the fetus will develop and function. About 10% of the adult population has agenesis of the corpus collosum and function normally. The prognosis for partial agenesis of the corpus collosum is worse and is associated with function impairment.
