Need for hormones: Corpus luteum is a small normal functional cyst in your ovary that makes Progesterone hormone that supports an early pregnancy till about 8 to 10 weeks. When it is not seen on ultrasound, your doctor may prescribe Progesterone to support the pregnancy.
