Good question: Sperm originates in testis, travels to ejaculatory ducts via epididymis & vas deferens. Sperm can escape from ejaculatory ducts & travel down urethra during sex or masturbation. Thus sperm can be washed out of penile urethra by escape of pre-cum from Cowper's gland duct. This has been cause of many unwanted pregnancies & is danger of so called "withdrawal" method of contraception.
