No need to worry: Your menses seem normal by your description. A small amount of bright red blood in the brown during normal flow should not be alarming. Do consult your primary medical provider if note additional bleeding between periods, increased frequency of periods or your periods are prolonged or unusually heavy, especially if you are taking hormonal contraceptive and are adjusting your dose.
