Birth control pills: Today's bcp's are very low in hormones, and on the inactive pills bleeding does occur but is very mild and much lighter than a "normal" (non-bcp). The low hormone levels of the active pills allow very little growth of the lining of the womb, hence there is very little bleeding with a "pill period" which you are having now.
