No problem: Your regular doc should be able to handle this one! Unless it goes on for another couple of weeks you should be Ok. If it continues past that time call your regular doc for help.

Try to relax: Excessive vaginal bleeding should be evaluated so that the cause of the symptoms can be determined, treated and prevented. A sensitive gynecologist would likely NOT perform an invasive examination. You also have the right to halt the examination at any time you feel uncomfortable. It will be important that you establish a relationship with a gynecologist that you can trust.

Don't worry: It is not necessarily abnormal to have irregular bleeding and irregular periods when you are young. Many things can effect your periods being around other people on their periods, stress, exercise, diet etc. If you continue to bleed you should make an appointment with your doctor which can be your family doctor for a check up. You do not need a Pap smear until you are 21. Don't be afraid.
