Faster than without: For a medium sized perforation like yours, a paper patch has about a 43.5% success rate, and repeat patches may be necessary. Fibroblast growth factor also has fairly good success rates in healing perforations, but you'll have to call around to various ENT doctors to see if they offer that at at let alone concomitantly with a paper patch. Most perforated TMs heal within 2 months.
