If it: Is down by your ankles and you have had trouble with swelling then the color is from the swelling where the blood has trouble returning back to your heart and pooled there . The pigment from the blood stains your legs that color. If you are turning brown all over for no apparent reason like tanning from the sun you should have an evaluation
