I am having a lot of crackling and popping in my shoulder w/ pain as well upon movement. what could be causing this?

Osteoarthritis : "Crackling and Popping" can be a sign of CREPITUS which can occur when the cartilage fibers of the joint cushion are damaged. Pain with active movement can be seen with Tendonitis or Osteoarthritis of the gleno - humeral (shoulder joint) BUT prominent CREPITUS points more to Osteoarthritis. Seeing your MD for a detailed shoulder exam/ X Ray will help pinpoint the problem (+) help with therapy.
