It happens...: but it does not mean you are not protected. There are a small number of patients who have had certain vaccines who do not have detectable antibodies. I am one of them. I have gone through the the entire Hepatitis B vaccine series TWICE and I have no detectable antibodies. Even though antibodies have not been detected, studies have shown the vaccine is still protective.

Time or Failure: Depending on what antibodies your testing for it may be that too much time has elapsed since vaccination. Additionally, it could indicated that the vaccine failed in your instance.
