Having relatives: that have committed suicide can provide a role model for taking one's life. It can make it seem like suicide is a viable option. Having bipolar disorder increases risk for suicide. If you have frequent suicidal thoughts - it is really important that you get good treatment. Suicide is a choice - it is an option that you don't need to chose. Learn good options to deal w your bipolar DO. Take care.

Having bipolar: Puts you at high risk 4 suicide. Knowledge is power. Since U R at high risk &have family history, make sure U work closely with your psychiatrist & psychologist. Stay on your medication & adjust it whenever things seem 2B out of whack. Noncompliance w' medication treatment is 1 of the biggest problems w' manic depression.
