NO: The dose you take is twice the maximum dose. Stop it before it causes significant toxicity.

Stop smoking: You are unlikely to have an immediate reaction to Meloxicam and cigarettes, however smoking increases your risk for some of the potential long term side effects of Mobic, (meloxicam) including peptic ulcer disease and cardiovascular disease.

Fine: all medications have possible side effects. The majority of my patients on Mobic (meloxicam) do well with it. Anxiety can wreak havoc with any persons fears of medication side effects. If your doctor Rx'd it, then try it and try not to stress over it, or you will make yourself sick. Addendum: max dose is 15mg daily-so ask your doc why take it twice a day. Good luck.

Seems like high dose: The risks may not overweigh the rewards. The medication itself is relatively safe unless you have any kind of bleeding disorder, kidney or stomach, don't have Nsaid or Aspirin allergy/sensitivities. I would not take any other anti inflammatory medication together with like anvil or aleve (naproxen). That being said limit your dosing to 7.5 mg once or twice daily or 15 my once daily.
