Umbilical hernia: It sounds like you have an umbilical hernia, meaning a part of your bowels are poking out beyond your stomach muscles through your belly button. As long as it easily goes back into place, it should not cause harm. If it gets larger, affects your bowel movements, or gets stuck, then you will need surgical repair.
