Pregnancy: It can take a few weeks for the hormone, hCG, to drop to zero, after a miscarriage or abortion. This is what the pregnancy test checks. However, if you had unprotected sex, you can also be pregnant. Call your doctor. Even if you aren't pregnant, you can also get some kind of birth control.
