I have 5 yr old who always has a cold or throat infection. what can be done to avoid the infections?

Consult with a: Pediatric otolaryngologist. Your 5-yr-old may have tonsils which need to be removed.

Be seen: Recurrent acute infections can often be curtailed significantly be removal of the tonsils and it adenoids.

5 year old: Five year old children can have anywhere from 6to a dozen colds or respiratory infections a year because of lack of adult levels of immunity. This is especially true if your child is in a day care center. Also, each infection helps to stimulate his immune system so that he will reach adult levels of immunity.
