A member asked:

What are the side effects of using advair inhalers?

Advair: Advair is a combined long-acting bronchial dilator and a steroid. When used alone, the former has been implicated in adverse side-effect on the heart. Fortunately, that does not happen when combined with the steroid. Its chronic use can cause mild growth stunting of about an inch during a child's growing years. Advair is an excellent inhalation medicine for the control of asthma.

Voice change, tremor: Everyone is different and most people tolerate Advair Diskus (salmeterol and fluticasone) without any adverse reactions. However some people may experience hoarseness, rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure and oral thrush. As with any medication, contact the prescribing physician if you feel you are experiencing any side effects.
