A member asked:

Can silent reflux cause a difficulty of swallowing for 4 weeks especially solid foods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reflux: Absolutely. Reflux means that gastric acid is coming up the esophagus and that can seriously irritate the mucosal lining and cause edema (swelling). You probably should have an EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) where a scope is inserted via the mouth to take a a look/biopsy of the esophagus and stomach..
