Need more info: Carbimazole will lower your thyroid level as long as you remain on the medication. The cause for your hyperthyroidism (Grave's disease, toxic nodule, multinodular goiter) will determine whether you will be able to come off the medication and have a normal thyroid level. Most people need a dose of carbimazole higher than 5 mg daily initially.
