Difficult to say: It is difficult to say why your neck is hurting without examining to you to check where exactly the pain is and getting a history of how the pain began, etc. The pain goes to your ear because of how the pain nerves branch through the neck. See your doctor for an examination.

Neck hurts right side. The pain extends to ear. I did not drank cold, I did not stay out in the cold and I had no contact with a person cold.
I have no flu sympts at all. But I have a pain behind right ear and down neck. Comes and goes during day. Hurts when I touch it or turn head to right.
