It can...: ... any tooth infection can spread to other parts of your body, but maxillary infections fall into the area Dr Oz calls the "triangle of death". It is not common nowadays, but it still can happen.

Definitely YES: The mouth is located In proximity of some vital arteries and veins that feeds directly into the base of the brain, any infection in any tooth in the mouth, if left untreated can feed directly into your brain and carry the bacteria with it. This use to be a problem before antibiotics and early treatment. Nevertheless antibiotic abuse can cause resistance and exacerbate the problem, don't delay.

Dental abcess : Dental abcesses can spread to your brain, usually if the upper teeth are involved, but it can happen with any teeth. It is not very common, but is very serious--any abcess sound be seen and treated very quickly.

Yes, it is possible: With the right treatment and drainage, a dental abscess is easily cured. Left untreated, a serious tooth abscess can eventually kill. Dental abscess infection may spread to the face, brain or neck. Direct spread from a dental source can account for up to 10% of brain abscesses. See your dentist for a preventive treatment.
