Chronic infection: Sounds like you are having an abscess that formed under a decayed tooth that was untreated, you need to have your dentist look at ASAP ,you need meds.and treatment done to get rid of it.

Dental visit?: It is most likely something benign so it might heal on its own after a few days, however since I have not looked at it my recommendation is to have a dentist take a look at it especially if it doesn't go away.
