Maybe: Sculptua filler is not to be done in one session and should be reserved for problems seeking a more permanent result. Also it can not be corrected it a mistake is made or the patient does not like he result. It is really good for HIV hollows.

Facial filler: Sculptra is one of several options for injectable facial fillers. Sculptra is usually used deeper in the face than other fillers like Restylane (dermal fillers) or juvederm to add volume. Sculptra is not usually used to treat individual wrinkles as it needs to be injected into the deeper tissues. There is a lot of information on the company's web site.

Not a filler: Sculptra is not a filler. It is actually made of ground up absorbable suture material. It is put into a solution and injected into the skin where it will cause irritation of the tissue and in turn stimulates collagen formation. It requires multiple treatments and many months to see the final results.

A different filler: Sculptra is poly l-lactic acid. First fda approved for treatment if lipoatrophy from anti-viral HIV drug treatments, for the last several years marketed as sculptra aesthetic for general cosmetic patients. A stimulatory filler, it leads to increased collagen production and a gradual volume improvement for facial aging. The results can be longer-lasting than other fillers, up to 2 years.

Facial Volumizer: Scultpra is a unique product which helps your body build its own collagen. It takes 12-18 weeks to reach full effect, but it provides long lasting rejuvenation (2 years or more). It can only be given by trained (facial) plastic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologists. You should seek consultation with a local certified injector to determine the best facial rejuvenation strategy for you. Good luck!

Benefits: What my patients like about sculptra is the natural return of their facial shape and contours. As stated, the result is not immediate, but each treatment (monthly) moves the result closer to the desired level of restoration and what i term "maintenance phase." if you do not have patience, then you may want to consider fillers such as juvederm, Restylane (dermal fillers) or perlane.

Sculptra not filler : Sculptra is not a filler in the true sense as it does not work by its own volume. It stimulates the body to produce collagen. It comes as a powder and is mixed with water. After the injection the water gets absorbed in 3 days and it looks like nothing was done. In 2 weeks the collagen formation starts and subtle fullness can be seen. It can take up to 6 months to see the full effect.

Very useful: Dr. Janjua is correct - sculptra is a collagen stimulator - like a fertilizer for your skin's collagen. The volume replacement happens over 3 sessions, spaced about a month apart, so its not for the instant gratification crowd. But its worth it because the results last for several years.

Soft tissue filler: Fda approved soft tissue filler that stimulates your skin’s fibroblasts to produce new collagen, thereby reversing the loss of the skin’s fullness. It is used to fill and re-contour areas where underlying supportive collagen and fat tissue have diminished with age or have been damaged by injury or disease.

Collagen Production: Sculptra works by stimulating collagen production in the skin. When you first have the "fill" the volume you get is water. This then goes away and the Sculptra remains. Your body then builds up the collagen and breaks down the Sculptra, leaving behind an increase in volume.
