A member asked:

What are the name of the medication used to treat tension headaches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OTC analgesics: OTC pain meds like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naprosyn (naproxen) (Aleve) and aspirin or acetaminophen (Tylenol) can help. Hot showers or baths, warm towels to the neck, active or passive stretching and massage can help. Try deep breathing, meditation, guided imagery or biofeedback under the care of a trained therapist. If you need stronger meds see your doctor.
