Yes: Clear retainers will work for all different sized teeth. What is more important to have evaluated is what did your teeth look like prior to braces? If a particular tooth or teeth were very rotated (more than 30 degrees) or very far off alignment from the other teeth in that arch (more than 3 mm) then your dentist may consider using a bonded retainer in conjunction to the clear retainer.

Absolutely: I prefer clear retainers for the majority of my patients. Tooth size is of no consequence. It is more about consistent, long term wear to preserve your bite and smile.

Retainer: Small teeth with spaces next to them work well with clear retainers. Small teeth without spaces do not work as well as there is not enough tooth to "catch" the retainer and small shifting may occur.

Yes: Certainly, small teeth do not have the surface area of teeth with larger crowns; however, well-fitting clear retainers should function well. If there are concerns, please contact your orthodontic specialist.

So: You want anecdotal responses from people who may or may not have worn their retainers as directed as opposed to the opinion of an Orthodontic Specialist with years of training and experience? The best advice you can receive is from the person who knows your occlusion best, your Orthodontic Specialist. Remember, retainers (no matter what type) only work if worn EXACTLY as prescribed...no cheating
