CTA: A CTA is a CT scan obtained with the intent to evaluate specific blood vessels. You will get an IV which will be used to administer contrast material during the scan. Some people experience a sensation of warmth or a metallic taste from the contrast material. Scan times are usually surprisingly fast. Good luck.
