Talk to your doctor: FIrstly, opiates should never be the ONLY thing to treat pain. Anti-inflammatory medications like Naproxyn or Ibuprofen should be used on a regular basis to reduce the inflammation that is causing the pain. The usual dose of hydrocodone in moderate-severe pain is 2 tablets (15 mg) which may be needed four or five times a day. If your pain isn't responding, the doctor needs to be re-consulted.
