Lovaza is fish oil: Lovaza is FDA approved omega 3 fish oil with recommended dose of 4 grams per day. One can try OTC fish oil but understand that there is not much regulation with these and maybe not be getting adequate amounts. Try 1000ng tablets ( one gram) 3-4 times per day and recheck triglycerides to see if get same effect as Lovaza

Elevated Triglycerid: I am not aware of OTC fish oil that wi work as well as Lovaza . She would have to take a handful of OTC pills snd the cost will eventually be the same and she may not get the TG control she has . I don't know if she needs to change her diet snd est less fat & Carbs . Also weight loss will be helpful in controlling TG and. Reduce the need for Meds . Hope this helps .
