Does a late period also mean late ovulation next time?

Not necessarily: The cycles can vary in length. While most women will have cycles about 28 to 30 days in length, normal cycles can vary between 21 and 36 days from start to start. If you cycles are in this range, even if they vary a bit from month to month, you would be considered within the normal range.
