It can take time: It can take some time for a fever to resolve even with the right antibiotic. More important is to assess just how sick your child seems. If s/he acts okay (eating, playing, sleeping) after a dose of tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen and the fever is less than 102.5 F then I would suggest patience for a day or two more. If you think that s/he is still ill-appearing, then get another doctor to take a look
