Neosporin or similar: Apply a topical antibiotic such as Neosporin or bacitracin. The main effect of these ointments is to keep the area moist and draining. These sores are usually caused by folliculitis (ingrown hairs) which is a bacterial infection around the hair follicle. Pulling the hairs out will often get the pus draining and the ointment will prevent it from crusting over
