Most likely IF: that is what was causing it. To quibble about semantics, it is PHYSICAL DEPENDENCY on methadone, NOT addiction, unless you were obtaining it without prescription, taking it to get high, and it was destroying your life (like the opioid you were using before you went on methadone). Ditto with pain treatment. Very long-term use of opioids can cause permanent changes, but usually goes back to normal
