Several things: There are many things that can cause eye irritation. Wearing contacts however, puts you t risk if the eye gets an infection, as they can make the issue worse. You need to get in to see an eye doctor for an eval, and I would use glasses until you get an exam to prevent any further issues. Best wishes.
