Biopsy: Topical anesthesia applied prior to injecting the local anesthetic will minimize the discomfort of the "needle stick". If topical anesthesia is not available, the local injection and infiltration of anesthetic causes some initial mild burning/stinging which lasts a few seconds and then the skin becomes numb where anesthetic was injected. No need to be scared at all, it is a fairly simple& painless
