Specializes in Vascular Surgery

See Vascular Surgeon: I would recommend that you see a board-certified vascular surgeon for your vein treatments. This is the only specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) to be specialists in vein disease management since they have completed a formal residency & fellowship in vascular diseases / surgery. Other doctors may do these treatments as well, but are not board-certified per ABMS

Specializes in Phlebology

Vein Specialist: Although many physicians can perform sclerotherapy and endovenous laser ablation, a vein specialist who is certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine is considered an expert in the field. Physicians who have passed this exam are recognized as Diplomates in the field of Phlebology (Vein Treatment).
