No: There is minor discomfort from the initial puncture and during the course of getting the vein anesthetized. There should be no pain at all when the laser is running. People have varying amounts of bruising and discomfort after the procedure. This is almost never enough to interrupt regular activities. Laser ablation is much easier (both during the procedure and recovery) than surgical procedures s.
