Jackpot: There does not seem to be a definite link between Perthes and EDS, as EDS tends to be due to one of several different genetic mutations, and Perthes disease can have non-genetic causes. In fact, with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, the cause really isn't clear at all. Newer research does suggest Perthes runs in families, but current thought does not imply that genetics alone can cause it.
