Small possibility: While it would be very hard to transmit HCV in that manner, if there were fresh blood on the instrument and it was contaminated with infected blood containing HCV which then came in contact with a cut or opening in your skin, then it could theoretically occur. Get your blood tested and if negative, perhaps you can shave at home with your own dedicated hair trimmer.
