No: Red blood in the stool means that the source of bleeding is low down in the GI tract otherwise the stool would be black from decomposed blood. There is no way that either a ventral or inguinal hernia would produce blood. One thinks of internal hemmorhoid, fissue, or possible polypoid neoplasm or even AV malformation lower GI tract.

Doubtful: It is possible, but very unlikely the blood in the stool is caused by one of the hernias. Best to get this checked out by your primary care doc. You are of the age you should have a screening colonoscopy as well. With multiple hernias, see a general surgeon with interest in hernia repair for a consultation, which you can find on the Americas Hernia Society website. Hope this helps!
