A member asked:

What to do if i had urethrotomy surgery a few months before but i didnot do self catheterisation.can i do it now.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, if needed: Urethrotomy is usually done in the operating room under direct endoscopic vision to allow an incision of a stricture (narrowing) in the urethra to be done. If you are asking about catheterization now, I assume that you were taught to do so, but didn't as symptoms better after surgery but now returning. Can try cathing very gently but do not force catheter if resistance. See your urologist.
