Record it.: Many times things seem to be random but are not. Write down when you feel depressed. The time of day, what you are doing, what you ate, if you are tired, etc. Do this for a few days and see if you can find something that appears at the same time as your depression.

Agree w Dr. Weston: Usually thoughts proceed feelings. The thought may be subconisous or may occur so rapidly that you aren't aware of it. Try to get in touch with this.. If you have difficulty doing this on your own - consider cognitive behavioral therapy.
