Don't panic: You should see a neurologist. Not every event called a "seizure" turns out to really be one. A neurologist will typically evaluate you, examine you, and often we order an EEG and brain MRI scan. If those show no "smoking gun" suggestive of high risk for more seizures, treatment with medication is often optional after the first event. If a second occurs...well...it's treatment time.
