Possibly: Everyone has different sensitivity to pain. Some women don't flinch during HSG, others seem to experience more discomfort. A speculum, internal manipulation, and cannulation of the cervix may be uncomfortable. When the contrast is injected into the uterus, some women experience transient cramping. Most women tolerate the procedure fairly well, it is a fairly quick procedure normally.
